In 1978, the Board of Trustees of the Foundation created a State Advisory Panel. More than 100 people from across North Carolina have served on the Panel since its inception.

Panel members participate in learning opportunities across the state and advise Foundation staff on emerging issues and opportunities in North Carolina.  In addition, the Advisory Panel selects recipients for the annual Nancy Susan Reynolds Awards.

The Panel has no authority to make grants, nor does it share any powers or duties with the Board of Trustees.

Panel members are selected by the Board of Trustees on the nomination of the executive director and serve three-year terms.  To recommend someone for the advisory panel, please email John Francis.
