Alexandria Hawkins
Alexandria (Allie) Hawkins is primarily responsible for grants in ZSR’s focus area of Promoting Social and Economic Justice in the State-Level Systemic Change strategy, with a concentration on criminal legal system reform and reproductive rights.
Alexandria was raised in Winston Salem, NC and attended Winston Salem Forsyth County Schools. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from North Carolina State University and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from University of Cincinnati.
Prior to joining ZSR, Alexandria served as a Clinical Planning and Policy Analyst with Alliance Health, where she focused on behavioral health policy and Medicaid initiatives . She previously worked as a Senior Policy Analyst with The Council of State Governments Justice Center, providing national training and technical assistance to corrections, court, behavioral health, and community supervision agencies. In that role, she facilitated learning communities and presented nationally on topics including reentry, behavioral health, equity, and justice reform.
Earlier in her career, Alexandria served as a United States Probation Officer and treatment specialist in the Middle District of North Carolina, where she specialized in evidence-based supervision practices, behavioral health programming, and training.
Alexandria currently serves on the Board of Directors for Addiction Professionals of North Carolina and previously received the organization’s DEI Leadership and Impact Award for her work advancing equity and inclusion within the social justice committee of the organization.
